I'll be holding down the opening slot on May 13, at the next instalment of #TDotLove at Bassline Music Bar in Toronto. This will be my last #TDotLove for a couple of months, so c'mon out to groove to some soulful biz, and get those $5 earlybird drinks in you.
Check the Facebook event page here, or join the convo in the #TDotLove group or page.
It's that time of year again, which means it's time to rave for charity. We're getting back to the reason we started throwing #TDotLove - pushing the talent that just doesn't get enough damn play in this city. We welcome back the #TDotLove veteran DJ Remedy, alongside the increbily talented Bandit Emcee. I'm in the DTYD set, and being set up by Dub Trauma with Savvy C, who so impressed us last month that we couldn't wait to have her back. My homeboy Tranzit will kick the night off until the cheap cover/cheap drinks end, so you win three times over.
Facebook event page here. See you on the dancefloor.
This month's #TDotLove, we're excited to welcome this dub/roots/drum n' bass combo in from Montreal. Clinton Sly was last here to battle in our Synergy Soundclash a couple of years back, and we enjoyed his work so much, we vowed to have him back. We're good to our word. He's bringing one of Canada's best soundsystem DJs to grace our stage - Seed Organization is guaranteed to satisfy.
I'll be setting the stage, and Tranzit will finish you off. We're also welcoming the up & coming DJ Fraktl to work the warmup for his #TDotLove debut - so get there early to support.
Full event details in the event section, and be sure to say hi and join the hype on Facebook.
We're finally bringing in my favourite drum n' bass MC in the world - Eyecue MC (formerly known as MC Hi IQ) to throw down at #TDotLove. It's his first Toronto appearance in over a decade, and long overdue. He'll be back to back with my Toronto stalwart, MCP, and we'll be running an extended set that'll be a journey through all different styles of drum n' bass & jungle music.
Support from Love Hz, PVP, and the badman Tranzit. See you on the dancefloor!
Lots of dancing on the radar this month.
First, we welcome two of Toronto's hottest up & coming producers to #TDotLove for extended sets of the good bassy business. Schematic on the liquid drum n' bass side of things, and RMS on the heavy rolling jungle side... should be a killer combination.
*** edit ***
Last minute announcement of a proper fam jam for the drum n' bass scene at Thymeless, including Marcus Visionary, my man Flex out of Rochester, and yours truly, among some heavy hitters of Toronto bass business!
We close out the month with a visit to one of our favourite rave promoters in the city - Electric Star Productions. This will be their second drum n' bass event, after a wildly successful throwdown at Tota (RIP) late last year. Tranzit and I will be in the rush hour slot, bringing the heavy ravey bass.
Full event info on all these and more in the events section, including FB links!
See you on the dancefloor!
Church Sundays has a new home, and we at #TDotLove are happy to welcome this weekly to our home away from home - Bassline Music Bar.
I'll be warming the night up with Tranzit, to help christen the place. Check the events section for full details & Facebook link.
My partner in crime has found a way to survive another year. We should celebrate with drum and bass! We're moving to the first Saturday of the month this month at #TDotLove so we don't conflict with all the big long weekend jams.
I'll be playing pretty liquid vibes in the opening slot. Get there early and get some $5 drinks in you before 11, and vibe out with the crew!
Check the full details on Facebook.
One of the city's hottest up & coming DJs touches down to show us her signature sound. Don't miss the #TDotLove debut of DJ Remedy!
I'll be setting the stage for Ms. Remedy, with some bouncy, good-times tunes, and a healthy dose of ragga. See you on the dancefloor!
This spring, we're throwing the party we've always dreamed of throwing. Rally your crew, mark your calendars, limber up your dancing feet, and prepare for a night like none other... after all, it takes a village to build a vibe.

liondub (NYC) with MC JD (dance-til-you-drop set)
1:30 - ???
Liondub International, Halcyon, Konkrete Jungle, Breakbeat Science, Earwax, The Agriculture, Lustre Kings / Destiny, Torontojungle.com, Electronic Nation
The baddest of badmen in the U.S. jungle scene, liondub comes correct each and every time. He's paid his dues since 1991 in NYC's roots soundsystems and drum n' bass scene... and his hard work and dedication to his craft is finally gaining him the recognition he so rightly deserves. His top-tier production work, and collaborations through the LionDub International record label he built from the ground up are making waves worldwide. He's pushing his city's bass music sound to the world through his radio show on Kool FM - a gritty blend of reggae, hip-hip, dubstep, and jungle music influences. On top of all of that, he's still a dancefloor murderer, through and through. His sets are soulful, expressive, precisely mixed, and packed chock full of tunes and dubs that you'll never hear anywhere else. He
keeps playing until y'all stop dancing, so let's show our guest what Toronto's got.
Mr. Dub will be joined on stage by a man whose performing career is equally storied. MC JD is one of our favourite Toronto microphone controllers for his boundless energy and creativity on the mic. From thought provoking story lyrics, to classic rave MC crowd hype, to Bhangra-influenced sing-song business, JD binds the DJ and the dancers together in mayhem.
Marcus Visionary with Bandit Emcee (extended set)
12:00 - 1:30 am
Digital Soundboy, High Culture, Necessary Bass, Lion Dub International, Inner City Dance / Dungeon Kru
The king ding-a-ling of the jungle ‘ting in Toronto, Marcus Visionary is our ambassador to the world. Marcus grew up immersed in the soundsystem culture, exposed to a heavy dose of lovers rock and roots reggae from an early age. Jungle music hooked him in the mid-1990s, and he rode slick mixing and one-of-a kind track selection to the very top of the city’s drum n’ bass scene. For 20 years he graced the airways on Prophecy FM, pushing the sounds of underground bass music to the masses. He’s recently parlayed that success into a bi-weekly slot on KOOL FM London, a testament to his growing international reputation. Not satisfied to rest on his laurels, he took up music production in the late ‘00s, steering his sounds towards the Caribbean vibe he was born to play. Marcus was our first headliner at #TDotLove, and words cannot express how excited we are to have him back to mash up our first proper rave in over a decade.
Marcus will be joined by Bandit Emcee, a man this city has missed dearly since his move to parts south of here. When we saw him last, he was singing live reggae vocals as part of Dungeon Kru as they captured the title of Toronto’s Champion Sound at the Synergy Soundclash this winter. You can expect more of the same fire-spitting lyricism, peppered with grimy hip-hop cyphers, and classic oldschool dnb emcee sounds. Make sure to listen keenly while you dance, as there’s a message in his madness.
Datty with M.C.P.
11:00 pm - 12:00 am
Future Perfect Synergy, Ravers Only, Hardcore 313, Justice Hardcore /
The stage will be set for the big guns by a grizzled veteran of the Toronto underground. A storyteller in the purest sense of the word, Datty's sets are built to bring you through a world of emotion. With an arsenal of tunes that defies description, he weaves together tunes spanning 20 years and every style of drum n' bass. His mixing style is as varied as his track selection, and he's notorious for taking crowds on unexpected tangents. Perhaps the only hardcore DJ to make a successful transition into Toronto's jungle scene, he continues to bridge the two communities in sound and promotions. The #TDotLove events he promotes with Tranzit are working to build unity & respect in Toronto’s underground, and showcase the city’s talent to the world.
Datty is joined by M.C.P., a big dutty MC killah, a man whose over-the-top energy infects the crowd, and motivates dancefloors like few others. His sound is one that hearkens back to the early days of rave MCs, and is cut with the reggae influences of his Caribbean heritage. Brapadapadaap!

Back in February of this year, we hosted Toronto's first jungle soundclash. At the end of four-way dubplate warfare, the Dungeon Kru were crowned Champion Sound. We promised to have them back soon, to bring their infectious energy back to the Bassline Music Bar dancefloor. We like to keep our promises.
I'll be playing in the dance-til-you-drop timeslot, after you've been worked over thoroughly by the Dungeon Kru. Not sure how I'll follow them up, but I've really been feeling the pretty, pretty rolling tunes these days. If you like liquid, you'd best limber up. Really looking forward to this one!
After this tour draws to a (merciful, from the perspective of my liver) close, I'll have a few more jams closer to home to get reacquainted with Toronto junglists. Check 'em out.
Church Sundays - Future Perfect Synergy Takeover
... the final stop on the Stories from the Road Tour
March 8, 2015 at Tota Lounge
Future Perfect Synergy's #TDotLove v.11
March 14, 2015 at Bassline Music Bar. I'll be on the warmup tip, so early outs crew will be treated to some of the prettiest liquid drum n' bass I've got... and that's pretty damned pretty.
RUN:DNB - Emcee Zee, Datty & Friends
Toronto's longest running drum n' bass weekly is back for another fine go-around, this time featuring Datty & Emcee Zee pushing bass through that big, bad soundsystem. Expect some grimey business, mixed in with proper ragga vibes befitting the environment.
You can catch all of the full details, and links to the event Facebook pages in the Events Section of the site. Much <3!!!
Tranzit and I are mad excited to announce the details of our first ever U.S. tour. We'll be bouncing around the midwest, rocking some incredible shows with some wild lineups. I'm coming armed with tons of Toronto originals from up & coming producers like HungryT, Artifice, DCision & RMS, NC-17, Polaris, and Grizzy. Things you've never heard before, mixed in ways you've only dreamed of. Seeeerious business soon come.
Here's the flyers for the events that have them up so far:
Full details are available on the tour's Facebook Page. See y'all there! <3
We're very very excited to be bringing you something Toronto's only seen once before in its long jungle history - a proper soundclash! We're featuring some of Toronto's finest up & coming sound crews in a fight to the finish - going mix for mix, dub for dub, until one sound emerges as Champion Sound.
The sole judging factor is crowd noise - so get there early and support your crew!
#TDotLove turns one this January, and we're bringing back the DJs who played the finest sets for us in our first year! See y'all there! <3
I'm pretty psyched for the holiday season, since everyone seems to be in the festive spirit already, motivating dancefloors gets that much easier.
RUN:DNB - FUTURE PERFECT SYNERGY TAKEOVER
Thursday, December 4, 2014
First off, we've just been asked to run a Takeover of our friend Marcus Visionary's RUN:DNB Thursday weekly at Thymeless. This venue has long been a haven for junglists, and its 12,000 watt soundsystem gives you that rumbly low end you're craving.
We're bringing in our friend DJ Love Hz to show off his Tdot-heavy track selection and silky smooth mixing, 'longside Mass Law on the mic. Tranzit will open the night, and I'll finish you off with some proper jungle & dubwize business. Full details & links in the events section of the site.
LET'S GET SERIOUS
Sunday, December 7, 2014
Acid Reign Productions and Bass the F**k Up have been running some pretty serious raves already this year, drawing together talent from nearly every genre of electronic music. I've played one of their mid-week events before, and was the beneficiary of their welcoming hospitality. This night will be no different, as they go all-in on their last jam of 2014. No idea what I'll play. You'll just have to join me there... Deets in the events section.
FUTURE PERFECT SYNERGY - #TDOTLOVE V.10
Saturday, December 13, 2014
My home and heart, the #TDotLove jams have been making waves among DJs, MCs, and dancers alike over the past year. This time we welcome a true legend of the Toronto scene, the scratchmaster Capital J. The man straight up smashes things, and his hip-hop turntablism on the drum n' bass tip will pair beautifully with MC A2's quick & choppy lyrical style. Up & coming producer DCision will bring the noise to the dance-til-you-drop set, with MC JD on the mic to take you to the early morning hours. Local hero Tru Troopa will set the stage for J with his jump-up selections, and I'm on the warmup tip. Get there early for cheap drinks before 11!
Full details on the event page, or the Facebook page!
See you on the dancefloor, loves!
Reflecting the continuing growth of the electronic music scene in Toronto, another cool weekly event has popped up. The crew at Feel Betta are fairly new to Toronto, having cut their teeth on Canada's east coast. They're putting together diverse lineups in one of Toronto's most storied alt-dance venues - the Velvet Underground!
I'll be playing an extended set from 1:00 until close. Expect some deep, soulful rolling tunes and plenty of pretty liquid to send you quietly into the night! <3
This weekend is shaping up to be a monster for Toronto junglists. Three high-quality jams featuring local legends are on tap. Rest up well tonight kids, for this weekend we rave!!
Thursday, November 6 - RUN : DNB
MC JD's Birthday Bash!
The OG jungle MC, man like JD, has survived another year. One of my earliest rave memories was him tearing the place down at Email's first rave - Fresh off the Tree... and his PLUR speech at ATM's Reunion party in 2000 is still etched in my mind. Even after all this time, he's still hustling - so c'mon out and pay some respect to a pillar of our scene.
I'll be warming up the night with some liquid, and rolling dnb... and if y'all get rowdy enough early enough, I might whip out a little proper jungle business for you to wine to. Let's do this properly! Big up JD!
Facebook event details here.
Friday, November 7 - Legends United
This one will be a trainspotter's delight, as three of Toronto's native scratchmaster sons go b2b2b on four decks, with MC JD holding down the mic. Each of these men is an awesome DJ in his own right, and each has brough much credit to the Toronto scene by representing it worldwide. This is something I've never seen before - and I don't know if it's ever been done - but it's going to be twisted. Check the facebook page for details.
Saturday, November 7 - TDotLove v.9
Saturday night is the peak of #TDotLove weekend festivities. After gazing in amazement at the turntablism on display on Friday, it's time to get down to some serious drum n' bass dancefloor destruction on Saturday night. This month we feature Soul in Motion's Mr. Brown, and his deep, deep, deep crate of heavy duty drum n' bass. He'll be laying out an extended set with Traj MC, and we're certain he'll use the extra time to take you somewhere you've never been before. My partner in crime DJ Tranzit will be in the dance-til-you-drop set on three decks, and local producer HungryT warms things up with his soulful home-grown sound.
I'll be on at 11:00 with some ragga, dub, and big bad bassy tunes to get you worked up before the big brown fella murks it out.
We're also featuring Toronto artist Maryanne Peters' trippy geometric art, and a MarioKart contest on the small screen. A bunch of birthdays in the house, and cheap drinks before 11. Check the facebook page for full details.
Oh, plus Church Sundays is featuring Stranjah and Hydra to cap off your weekend.
Bottom line: if you're not on the dancefloor in the city this weekend, you're no junglist.
One of the best nights out in Toronto is Church Sundays at Tota Lounge. It's the drum n' bass industry night, which features Toronto's finest jungle DJs and MCs in an intimate, accessible environment. I've finally been asked to drop a set, and I'm ever so excited to set the stage for the legendary Marcus Visionary. Church promoter and longtime stalwart Rick Toxic is on the warmup duties. Get there early for drink specials, and rinse your way into the new week!
It's also the doorman Arm's birthday, so the place should be rammed up with people there for a good time and a long time!
<3 - Datty
After a wild September, October is shaping up to be a solid month, with three solid events on tap:
October 1 - Wednesday of Kigurumis
The actual name is way longer than that, but I'm lazy. One of the best Wednesday nights you can get in the city is hosted by DJ Dynamic of the Nocturnal Commissions crew. He's invited me out to play a midnight set of drum n' bass, and lead up to his happy hardcore set. That means I'll be starting big and pretty, and getting bigger. If you ask nicely, you might even hear a little 4-4 business for old times' sake. It's free and shit, so just come drink Jameson on a Wednesday night and do a little dancing. it's good for the soul n' all. Facebook page has details.
October 11 - #TDotLove v.9
This is our monthly that we throw on the second Saturday of every month. I won't be MCing so much as hosting the night, to bring the wicked selectors a little closer to the crowd. I'm especially psyched to see Marty McFly in extended set action, and what the badman Paul Savage will do to the dance-til-you-drop set! Check the Facebook page for all the buzz!
October 25 - TOP RANK - Ottawa
I'm returning to the city I called home for three years, along side one of the world's finest jungle producers & DJs in Marcus Visionary. We might have a special guest tagging along for the ride as well. What's not to get excited about? How about a virgin venue? How about stupid cheap? This is a no-brainer. I'll be on before Marcus, so it'll get a little dark & moody for a bit I'm sure, but if you follow me down there, you'll be rewarded on the way back up. ;)
See you there, capital city crew! Check the facebook page for full details.
As the weather cools, things are starting to heat up 'round FPS headquarters. In the midst of locking down some amazing lineups for October & November's #TDotLove, I've been cavorting with some Toronto rave promoters. Jungle and drum n' bass are in high demand, so it looks like this fall will be a busy one for me. Without further ado:
September 13, 2014: #TDotLove v.7
For the first time in a long time, M.C.P. and I will be holding down the dance-til-you-drop slot at #TDotLove. The premise is simple - we keep playing as long as you keep dancing. Last time we did this, I played for over 3 hours. I wonder if we can beat the record this time? Following up the madman NC-17, I'm leaning in the direction of coming in heavy, going deep, before finally giving you the good times later on. Then again, I might change my mind at the last minute... you'll just have to be there and see!
19+, $10 on the door only, and full details on Facebook.
September 25, 2014: #PLURNT
Thursday night business in the world's second hippest neighborhood. I'm excited for the chance to bring proper jungle & drum n' bass sounds to the all-ages raving crew. Last time I played one of these, every single raver in the party was bubbling, and this time will be no exception. I'm slated to play from 1:00-2:00 am - prime time! So, I've got a ton of deep jungle and beautifully moody drum n' bass to delight the senses, and some big, dirty smashers if y'all earn 'em. ;)
All ages at Nocturne, $5 on the door. Check Facebook for the full details.
September 27, 2014: Heaven on Earth
The fine folks at Hitman Productions have been putting together some smashing raves of late - built around the harder styles. They're giving me great billing on their lineup, so I'm anticipating playing a prime time slot there as well. Seeing as kids like to go hard, it'll be a great opportunity to play some heavy, big-room drum n' bass for the massive!
All ages $10, or $5 for 19+, at Nocturne, full details on Facebook.
I've also got a tentative renegade rave booking for September 26th, more info to follow on that. A bunch more things brewing for October, including #TDotLove 8, and a couple of out-of-town shows. Watch this space!
Our little monthly jam, #TDotLove, has been picking up steam of late... if you haven't been on the floor for any of the incredible sets that Toronto's finest have laid out for us, it's time to get to know. We get seriously twisted, and this month shall be no exception. We're pleased to welcome a DJ/producer that all Toronto junglists ought to be proud of - NC-17. His 3-deck quick mixing helps him to build sets that move dancefloors to hysterics. He's joined by the legendary MC JD on the mic, and they'll smash out an hour and a half set that'll leave you breathless.
I'm being featured in the dance-til-you-drop set, 'longside my partner in crime, M.C.P. We keep playing as long as you keep dancing, so expect a musical jouney through everything from dancefloor smashers to etheral liquid, and all parts in between.
But wait, there's more - we welcome a blazing-hot up & comer, Polaris, to set the stage for our headliner. The 11-12 slot makes or breaks the night - and this fella knows how to build a dancefloor.
Come and join us, and see what all the buzz is about. Bring good vibes and dancing shoes, and show your locals just how much Toronto loves 'em.
Full details on the facebook page.
The don dada of Toronto drum n' bass has asked us to do him a solid by running an edition of his RUN RED Thursday weekly. So, we've pieced together a tidy little lineup, including a couple of people we've wanted to work with for a long friggin' time - Mass Law and the one like Lucky General on the mic. Summertime vibes won't last forever. Get 'em before they're gone!
(Future Perfect Synergy, Ravers Only, Hardcore 313)
(HypeKrew, Rather Rude, DnB Federation)
(Future Perfect Synergy, Ravers Only, Justice Hardcore)

<3 - Datty
Last minute booking announcement! I'll be playing this week's Run Red: Dub Hub Toronto takeover edition. I'm on from 11-12, and will be taking some new tunes for a spin. C'mon down for a patty and a Red Stripe, and then burn dem calories with a little rump shaking.
Facebook event has the full details.
